A casual meeting on Sunday morning. Wearing timeless vintage for "appropriateness", "style", and that extra "spice". The padded shoulders may be over-the-board, but that is why I like it.

Decorating the look with red lips and nails. Red and green. This is a head-start for christmas. 

People in the past are coming in back into my life. Makes me remember that what goes around comes around, including events and people, enjoyable or painful.....

Winter Plum

For the change of seasons, I am incorporating new colors to my makeup look. Winter is perfect for those dark lipstick colors, and I am bringing them out from my hidden boxes. Trying this lighter plum that is suitable for the daytime. It can also act to gradually build my confidence for the the other versions that require more courage.

I actually am not the greatest fan for this lipstick in Aristo-Cat. The frost texture with a metallic shine is a combination that I just cannot get use to. Certainly, I must be out of my mind for buying something I do not favor, but it was a while back and girls just do this all the time. 

Since this is about beauty and fashion, but not proliferation, the way I even out the metallic shine is a top of Chanel lipgloss. So far it is working. 

Wearing this look for dinner tonight.

Nothing can compare to the effortless cozy turtleneck sweater and messy tucked in hair. Wearing this Zara sweater as a dress, I am definitely putting effort to defeat with the Beijing cold: running bare-legged during winter. It is most important to protect the knees and these boots have done just that. 

Don't give in for the clumsy winter clothes, sometimes you just have to try.

Successful people are not gifted; they just work hard, then succeed on purpose.

I saw on CL's official instagram account that it is there iconic Pigalle pump's ten years anniversary. I decided to celebrate their birthday by wearing them as well, I have no plans, so out for a hair-cut will do. These are honestly so uncomfortable, but the pain is just worth it to wear something so sexy. 

I didn't cut my hair short like how I planned in my last post, at least not yet. It is the end of the year, there are too much celebrations, to much work, too much important deadlines, too much worries. I have decided to keep something so exciting for one more month and start the new year with a fresh cut. Call me hesitant.

I'm going to succeed because I'm crazy enough to think I can.

GO SHORT

Short hair inspirations since I've deciding to go short. I have always been biased (and I still agree) with a perspective that middle aged women look better with short hair. There certainly are gorgeous women who can rock the long hair look as well while they age, but in general, I believe that short hair is just more clean, smart, fresh, and edgy, and just looks better on them. Thus, I have been saving that look and preserving my waist-length hair until it's time I go short and never back again. 

But it has come to a stage when I get bored of it. My ends are dry and tangled, and all the girls with short hair on the street brighten my eyes. I realized life is too short for just one hair-style, and I should dump my "conviction" and still enjoy switching around from long to short. It is just hair, right?

I believe style is not only about looking good with the newest trends. It is also about finding what is most fit and right for yourself. I have very broad shoulders, and if I go too short, my proportions will be off with a small head. Planning to cut them shoulder length with no bangs. I can do variations by splitting in the middle or on the sides for different looks. I am excited.

Outfit I wore on day 2 while strolling down the Hong Kong streets. We lived in an apartment halfway up the mountains, and plus cabs are always so hard to get, it is a cardio session every time we go home. It is not the best walking streets, so comfortable clothes and flat shoes is a must.

HONG KONG CITY

They say everyone needs to go on an impulsive trip where you just leave when you feel like it. Abandon your responsibilities, stop thinking about the consequences, and pack and live right away like you will never live again. This is one of those trips. My brother and I decided to head to Hong Kong so we booked our tickets and left early morning the next day.

The last time I was in Hong Kong was almost ten years ago. But I visited almost all sights and ate all the must-try food in this short trip of only three days. Besides hanging out with my dearest girlfriends, which is never enough. 

Just like how I love New York, I love Hong Kong. I feel energized by the busy streets and people going to places and working for their dreams. As so, Hong Kong is not a tourist site but a place to settle and live a life.

Enough vacation, it is time to go back to reality and my job.

I'm gonna make it happen.
